We’ve driven all over the country the last year or so. To Monterey, California and then Del Ray Beach, Florida. There’s also a trip to Vegas somewhere in there, plus numerous trips to Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Tennessee. All this was from Texas.
When you’re married to someone who refuses to fly because he doesn’t want to be treated like a terrorist, you ride in the car a lot.
While on these frequent trips I’ve noticed something. I’ve seen lots and lots of empty billboards—all over the country. I’m sure it costs a good bit to advertise on a billboard, and companies and others advertising have had to cut back. I’ve never seen it like this, though.
Everybody’s feeling the pinch these days. And how can you afford to advertise while trying to cut back on expenses? Go online!
Online advertising is booming. There’s PPC adds all over the web. And every company with ANY sense what-so-ever has a website. And they’re all vying to make page one on Google, or at least be well-placed near the top.
Direct mail is still a good way to advertise, but you get more bang for your buck online.
I hate to shop, so just about all my shopping is done online. It’s great! No trips to the crowded mall, fighting to see what you want to see. No waiting in line at the cash register, watching another shopper try to get ahead of you—with a whining and squirming child.
I can get things ordered, wrapped and sent to whomever I want them sent to. Of course, sometimes I have them sent to me, to wrap personally and distribute. But NO TRIPS TO THE EVIL MALL!
And I KNOW I’m not alone!
If you can get a good email list, you’ve got it made. Whatever you’re advertising let that ad go out in cyber space. Advertise on a site that sells ads. And then there are always PPC ads. I’ve found plenty of things I needed or wanted, just by clicking on a PPC ad.
Find a good online copywriter to write your ad, write marketing emails and autoresponders or improve your website. You certainly won’t regret it! What you pay your copywriter will be more than worth it.
If you are in the market for a good copywriter, I’m available to discuss your next project. Contact me and let’s get busy!
